A PUB faces losing its licence after the landlord offered a dildo as a competition prize in a post on its Facebook page.

Craig Harker was also accused of promoting violence by asking punters if they would “punch their ex for a steak”.

He called it banter and blamed the PC brigade for reporting The George Pub & Grill in Stockton-on-Tees, Co Durham. 

But the borough council’s licence review meeting will rule on the pub’s future next week. 

Labour MP Alex Cunningham tweeted: "I am pleased the police are objecting to this licence application. Domestic violence cannot be condoned." 

Ahead of the meeting, the pub’s social media page read: “Remember this is because of a Facebook post reported by the PC brigade.
